Dr. Lauren Turchin-Orent has been practicing internal medicine in Nassau County for 30 years. She focuses on preventative care in adults, including detecting and treating diabetes, high blood pressure, and weight and cholesterol disorders. She encourages healthy lifestyle modification through dietary changes, weight loss, regular physical activity, nicotine cessation and moderate alcohol use. Women’s health issues such as osteoporosis, atypical heart disease and autoimmune disorders are a major concern of hers.  Dr. Turchin-Orent stresses that annual health examinations, immunizations and cancer screening tests are up to date.

Dr. Turchin-Orent completed her medical education in Boston University’s Six Year Medical Program in 1984 and her internship and residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park in 1987. She earned her board certification in Internal Medicine in 1987, as well.

Originally from Brooklyn, Dr. Turchin-Orent has lived on Long Island with her family and children for the past 30 years. She has admitting privileges at both NYU Winthrop Hospital and North Shore University Hospital.
